Yes, Bobby Brooks Wilson is infact the son of legendary soul singer Jackie Wilson a fact he discovered later in life after becoming a successful entertainer known for paying tribute to his famous father, with a story documented in the film The Last Teardrop. Known as “Mr. Entertainment,” Bobby built his own music career, serving in the U.S. Navy and performing original material, before a DNA test confirmed the familial link, solidifying his unique connection to the “King of Soul”.
Started performing in Hawaii in a DooWop group, where Paul Revere of Paul Revere and the Raiders saw him performing and immediately asked Bobby to impersonate Jackie Wilson in his Legends In Concert show. Bobby turned down the offer 3 times as he wanted to continue his career as himself (Bobby Brooks).
But, Paul was persuasive and eventually got Bobby to come aboard.
Bobby became quite popular in the business and soon started creating “tributes” to other stars such as Little Richard, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Johnny Mathis and others, this expanded into him being able to come to Las Vegas and star in many shows such as Legends Las Vegas, Hail Hail Rock n Roll, Motown and many more.
His shows are energetic and fun and there is no denying the talent this man has.
Bobby’s full story was brought to life in 2024 with the making of the documentary film The Last Teardrop.
