About the #1 Donna Summer Tribute Performer
The daughter of a Baptist minister, Marva’s love of singing began as a member of the choir at St. John’s Baptist Church in Seattle, Washington and it has taken her to stages around the world.
An immersion into musical theater productions ‘Porgy & Bess’, ‘Ain’t Misbehavin’ and ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ honed her vocal and performance skills as she brought each character to life.
Landing in Los Angeles to work with vocal coach Seth Riggs, she formed ‘Marva Scott and the Motor City Revue’ dedicated to the Detroit sound and therein discovering her passion for Motown and celebrity impersonation.
After a year of performing in Paris, Barcelona, Rome and Cannes, Scott returned to the states to Caesar’s Palace Atlantic City’s main showroom. Producer Ted Lorenz caught a performance and offered her the lead female vocalist role in the Stardust Las Vegas production ‘Enter the Night’ where she performed nightly for three years.
As a longtime member of ‘Legends in Concert’, Las Vegas’ long-running, tribute artist show, Scott seamlessly segued from Donna Summer and Diana Ross to Gladys Knight and Tina Turner. She dazzles audiences with her energy, talent and incredibly versatile vocal performances. A yearlong stint at Bally’s Las Vegas as the lead performer in ‘Solid Gold Soul’ followed as Diana Ross.
Marva has paid spot-on homage to a classic coterie of characters, from Disco Diva Donna Summer and Motown Queen Diana Ross, to Queen of Rock Tina Turner and Empress of Soul Gladys Knight. In addition to the long running Legends In Concert series, Scott creates personal productions for select audiences and VIP performances.
